I engineer songs for generic rappers who are never going to make it. I've engineered at least 5 songs called "work" "that nikka" and "bout it"
I slave for that 75 an hour. I have to listen to a bunch of trend rappers who are never going to make it tell me "How They Want Their Art To Sound"
"Change this, this don't sound right" "I want this kick in the the left headphone and this hat in the right headphone"
But it brings in the $$, so fukk I have to deal with it. We got 45 year old nikkas comin in the studio talking about starting rap careers. But as long as Im getting paid, I dont care. All these nikkas bring in the same trap beats. OVER AND OVER

Some. I know the Flatbush Zombies and the Underachievers personally. Juice, Demetri, Marlon and them. We all lived in the same building in Flatbush before I left, and before they got big. Juice was my budman before he got big, and I had to quit cold turkey because I legit couldn't find another budman.
Other than those guys. 1 or 2 young nikkas here that have some talent, but are so busy trying to sound like other people, you cant really tell how good they are. A lot of NY rappers coming in faking southern accents.

Nah, I wish I could run into someone who knows shyt. I'd love to run into the next Ye or something. Most of these nikkas are coming in looking to make quick 1 hit wonders to get paid.
My two biggest problems with the nikkas that come in are
1) LET ME DO MY fukkING JOB. I know what I'm doing. There's nothing you can tell me about this shyt. So let me salvage what I can from your shytty generic music.
2) They always roll so deep. 12/13 nikkas in a hot ass room with no bytches. 2AM. Shirtless. Thinking they know shyt. Room be smelling like generic music and false ambition. but that check keeps me going. Plus the studio is right near my school.
