Last month, some ambitious Wizards fans proposed the franchise adopt a red-white-and-blue t-shirt theme during the playoffs, creating three tiers of colorful sections with three different t-shirt giveaways.

Sure enough, the team announced on Monday that such is the Game 3 plan. Via a press release:

Newly designed game operations elements surrounding the “dcRising” tagline, including a 40×40 team-branded flag, will be introduced for the first round. Fans will also have the chance to participate in a new interactive opening video using updated Washington Wizards mobile app.

Washington will host Chicago for Game 3 on Friday, April 25, at 8 p.m. Every fan will receive a Wizards playoff shirt….Fans in the 100 level will receive red shirts, fans in the 200 and 300 level will receive white shirts and fans in the 400 level will receive blue shirts. In addition, WPGC personality Mr. Peter Parker will host his show live from Verizon Center from 4 p.m. until tip-off. Fans are encouraged to arrive early to take part in all of the pre-game activities.

The Sunday matinee giveaway will be rally towels — like the t-shirts, sponsored by Geico.

To my DC cats.. what if the Wiz had Redskin colors? Would they be beloved more? Kinda like how Pittsburgh does the black @ yellow

Nah, growing up in this area it's really just the lack of a true superstar. Most ppl in this area dikkride players. Like out of all my friends I know, Im the only basketball fan that's a true fan of a team. All the teams they like was because of the players [Wade, Kobe, LeBron]

There's always been a TON of female wizard/bullets fans in this area.

Colors are fine. Red/White/Blue is basically the Bullets colors. I think changing the name back would be a bold move but it probably won't happen.

We need to get Durant to come home and play with Wall and Beal... that would be like when Michael Jordan came out of retirement and played for the Wizards while being the GM too. The buzz would be a thousand times more than MJ's time here IMO
