Lots of companies are not profitable
Lyft, Uber Eats, Xerox etc. damn neary every Tech company out there isnt.
And they don’t have CBAs. And sports teams are not long term investments. There is an expectation that a team is immediately profitable.

Uber is profitable. These were growth companies and they most certainly didn’t attempt to reach profitability by paying their employees more. If anything employees usually suffer for tech companies to reach profitability.

I get the feeling that they're still going to complain once the new TV deal hits. They'll most likely get a 15-20% cut which'll keep them from having to play overseas and actually make bank, but they'll want 50% like the NBA players get.

NBA teams paper valuations often understate what they'd be sold for once they hit the market.
