Nope, that's just an arbitrary definition by yourself. Counterparts hold the same position or perform the same function. The NBA is the premier American basketball league for MEN. The WNBA is the premier American basketball league for WOMEN. They are COUNTERPARTS, the demand for the product is a different discussion.

This is a good point.

However, women make up 50% of the population if they really wanted to make up some of the difference of incomes they could, by simply supporting the WNBA. Unfortunately a lot of women don't watch sports and the ones that do also consider the WNBA an inferior product so why support.

Yeah I love basketball but the WNBA is no where near as entertaining as the NBA. Even though I caught a NY vs Indiana game a few weeks ago that was surprisingly entertaining the chicks playing were pretty decent .

That said it's just not a mainstream sport but I'll say if I have a daughter that likes basketball like her dad I wouldn't mind taking my little brehette to some WNBA games.

But real talk and someone mentioned this before the "lesbian" vibe has rubbed some families with little girls that may have been interested that wanted a family atmosphere feeling like they at a LGBT event. My sister took our little female cousins to a WNBA game by herself one time and said these two stud hoes was trying to holla at her in front our little cousins .
