The stoop with dat dope fanny padding
I can see them being mad about Doc falsely believing time wasn't gonna run out on them before his deal was up, but C's fans can't get mad at Doc being wishy washy when every year Ainge randomly decides he wants to shop around everyone on the team.

But doc knew this before he signed his five year deal, he knew there was a rebuild coming and publically acknowledged that.

I know Danny shopped them but he never did move them, and it was probably a mistake. Had rondo and sully not gotten injured, we most likely beat the Knicks but I'm not sure we get by the pacers... Would have been a good series tho

I just want this to be over, there's no way IMO doc can come back from this, this deal needs to happen

Nothing now. It's been pushed back til Monday.

As a Celtics diehard, wanting to know the team's direction after having been dikked around for the past week with endless rumors, I'm unbelievably frustrated. I just want something to happen!

I even talked myself into the Deandre Jordan era for crying out loud

NBA won't allow Rivers-Clippers swap - CBSSports.com

His strongest comments came on ESPN Radio in New York, where Stern said, "The teams are aware that the collective bargaining agreement doesn't authorize trades involving coaches' contracts."

The only incentives other than player contracts that are permitted in NBA trades, Stern said, are draft picks and cash.

"The teams know that," Stern said. "It has been confirmed to them. ... It can't be gotten around by breaking it up into two transactions."
Stern said -- and a person familiar with the communication between the league and the teams confirmed -- that there is no separating the two deals at this point because it is obvious all the pieces are part of the same negotiation.

"If you think those, at this point -- having been all over the media for the last week -- are separate transactions ... I have a bridge that I would very much enjoy selling to you," Stern said.

You not bout to sneak one past Stern when the shyt in the media yo

I'm glad Stern remained consistent. I would have been VERY pissed if he'd let this bullshyt go through.

Why would you be upset if the trade went thru?

It's pretty much a win win for both sides

I'm a Celtics fan and I don't love the deal, but I understand it. Really just want resolution one way or another instead of all this posturing, head games, and just plain stupidity.

Sources: Doc Rivers taking weekend to decide Celtics future; CP3 unhappy about deal's demise

Doc Rivers informed the Los Angeles Clippers that he is no longer a candidate for the franchise's coaching job and will use the weekend to decide his coaching future with the Boston Celtics, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.

After further talks on compensation between the Celtics and Clippers failed to produce an agreement on Friday afternoon, Celtics general manager Danny Ainge and Rivers' frustration with the negotiations caused both to leave the process, league sources said.

Rivers had his agent tell the Clippers of his decison, sources said.

Ainge had wanted a first-round draft pick from the Clippers to let Rivers out of his contract, but the Clippers offered only a future second-round pick, league sources told Yahoo! Sports. Within the NBA, there had been growing doubt that owner Donald Sterling wanted to pay the five-year, $35 million contract he had negotiated with Rivers, nor give up any first-round picks in the deal.

Free-agent star Chris Paul pushed the Clippers to hire Rivers as coach, but will have to settle for Lionel Hollins, Brian Shaw or Byron Scott if he plans to re-sign with Los Angeles in July. Paul is unhappy with the fallout over the failed deal, sources told Yahoo! Sports on Friday night.

Rivers plan to have a decision on Monday. Rivers is choosing between staying with Boston for his 10th season or leaving for television. If Rivers does leave the job, the Celtics will still require compensation before he can accept a job elsewhere in the NBA.

The Celtics were using Rivers as asset to help in the rebuilding of the franchise, and his desire to coach for a championship contender ultimately led them to work together on the Clippers' job.

Rivers has three years and $21 million left on his contract. He won the 2008 NBA title as coach of the Celtics, and reached the NBA Finals before losing to the Los Angeles Lakers in 2010.

The clippers are playing with fire.If they are this petty over giving up a 1st round pick which would most likely be between 23-28 to get a coach that a pending free agent and the best player on your team wants they deserve to lose chris paul

Only way that would make any sense is if they have a bigger deal cookin and they need the pick for that

Sources: Clippers initiated talks about financial parameters of a contract w/Byron Scott Friday night. Did not do so w/L Hollins & B Shaw.

Bill Simmons: Start getting excited, Clips fans - of the 42 NBA coaches with 400+ wins, Byron Scott has the 2nd-lowest winning percentage (.444).
