This is my point. You wanna take up the max space you can on the salary cap but then talk about winning? All that's gonna be left for Riley is signing old players who are beyond their primes or dudes with questionable health issues using stuff like the MLE and the team year after year is barely gonna skate by while eventually the rest of the league catches up and surpasses them because three players are hammering the cap.
