Lebron is worth it. Wade knows he's worth 11 mil at this point. Bosh is 12-13 mil. Okafor is worth 2.5-3 mil. 1.2 for Napier.

Bron's one of the best players of all time, still in his prime...he should feel insulted that anyone thinks he should have to take (ANOTHER) paycut in an effort to further superstack his team to win...he's been getting paid a fraction of what he's worth his entire career...i'm definitely not shy about criticizing dude, but this is the last thing I think anybody should hold against him...the east is still pathetic, they'll almost undoubtedly walk right into the finals next year even if they made absolutely no upgrades to the roster...and have an honest shot at beating whoever comes out of the west, and as a player that's all you can realistically hope for

He shouldn't have to take a paycut, doesn't mean there shouldn't be an expectation for him to win with a viable roster like that of last year's.

I won't criticize LBJ for getting his money, he deserves it fully. For some reason the dynamic of sports have changed to a point where we just judge by titles. He has to deal with it with or without a max contract and a stacked lineup and bench.

Conversely, I won't criticize the owner (who was a billionaire before buying the sports team) for not paying a luxury tax for revenue sharing purposes just cuz he's a cac. :yeshrug:

I think there are many settings in which LeBron can succeed and get his 4-6 titles, some of them just might not come with a title next year.

LeBron is the one pissing off the billionaire owners. When people like Kobe take every dollar they can possibly get and restrict their teams ability to add additional players, the other 29 owners call it a W.

Nah

If every player had the intelligence to do what Kobe did then things would get fixed

Owners are pissed because there's only a few superstars who are sensitive enough to leave tens of millions of dollars on the table just to get approval from critics who have never even played basketball

These owners are on some "I wish I could find me a negro dumb enough to take a paycut to win a ring for me and add hundreds of millions of dollars to the value of my franchise"

This is the second time you've posted this lol. You should elaborate.

I don't think him opting out to take the max makes sense in light of the other opt outs. It's obvious Riley is going to reload this roster and he needs cap space to do it. I was referencing how people act like this report is fact. It could happen but does it make sense if he wants to build a better team?

Players have been doing what Kobe did forever. Taking as much money as you can is the norm. That's why max contracts and salary caps have been somewhat effective in limiting the advantages that big market organizations have. It's extremely rare in the NBA for anyone who isn't :flabbynsick: to be willing to take a financial sacrifice so his teammates can :eat: too.

Do you think a single GM was upset when the Lakers backed up the brinks truck for a :old: Kobe that isn't going to be anywhere near a 25 million/year player in comparison to his peers? He has value in marketing and ticket sales but he's probably going to be hurt a lot and he doesn't singlehandedly make a team a contender. This is exactly what the rest of the teams want to see. A big market superpower being extremely limited in what they can do because their "star" takes up half the cap.

The players are getting a set percentage of the leagues BRI. The owners don't save money when players creatively share that pot.

The fukk happened to the NBA? the best player expecting a max contract is somehow news. The fact that nikka has to consider a pay cut is ridiculous for everything he brought to Miami. How about pay Wade what he's worth because I don't see many other players in the league taking games off at the rate he was just to still not be up to par during the NBA finals. The guy played like he was JR smith out there and yet there's a chance he gets paid as much as Lebron.
