nikka your quote was that Kobe missed the playoffs or “got smoked” in the first round when he had bad teammates… my rebuttal was Lebron has done the same even with good teammates.

Hate when y’all bring up dumb shyt then start crying :skip: You want me to lay out what the lakers have done the last 5 years for you? Bron literally missed the playoffs his first year in LA.

Kobe with Smush and Kwame gets us just as far as Bron with AD, RW, and Luka :laff:

Im older. I was there

Larry shares the greatest amount of blame for the teams lack of success. In real time, that's how everybody felt
I'm older too, I remember this team. I remember at the time the reporting was that LeBron,, Melo,, DWade were isolated because Brown wanted to put it all on the veterans and put the younger guys in their place.

So to hear the story try to shift to blaming Bron is very strange.

Finals are about to happen in a few days and these losers are desperate for names such as Bron or Kobe to keep the attention of casuals :mjlol:

Why do I care what could've happened in 08 when the outcome is that they won that gold medal. This is some chatty patty bullshyt.

I also remember this team well because it was supposed to be the redemption team that brought the glory back at the Olympics. It was also the start of social media namely facebook and twitter and some of the players were vlogging during the trip.. Bosh and Howard.

Remember USA had suffered some huge losses in international play prior. In 2004 Olympics they lost by almost 20 points to Puerto Rico in group play, followed by a loss to Lithuania in group play and finally the loss everyone remembers to Argentina in the semifinals. In 2006 FIBA world championship they lost to Greece in the semifinals and Greece ended up losing by damn nearly 30 points to Spain in the championship game so we can probably conclude USA would have lost to Spain in 2006 as well. They made both coaching changes and player personnel changes.

The road to redemption started with winning Gold at the 2007 FIBA Americas championships where they dismantled Puerto Rico and Argentina. USA was winning convincingly against every team averaging almost 117 ppg and 72 opponet ppg - both tournament best. Bron and Melo were easily the best players on that team followed by Kobe.

At the 2008 Olympics it can be argued that Bron was the best player he certainly was stats wise followed by Wade. Defensively Chris Bosh was their best player because he was switching and guarding the pick and roll extremely well.

Therefore I dont buy this narrative that USA basketball was even for a second contemplating leaving Bron out of the Olympics roster when he was one of their best players in 2007. Woj is just bitter because of Brons camp and handlers. Nothing more to see here.
