I listened to the whole thing, it was a bit informative if you're like me and don't know much about language. that was most of the interview. the latter half was more about McWhorter's stance on racism not specifically race. Peterson pushed him on why he feels the way he does about Racism, in simple terms McWhorter doesn't believe racism is as bad as it was pre-1960s because he grew up in those time periods. He doesn't believe racism should be a black American's identity ie. it can be an impediment in some cases but isn't an obstacle. As of now, he believes most black people and white people treat it as a religion so you're not "Really black" unless you believe in it too.

He's a democrat, more of the 60s style democrat, and not conservative nor has he ever voted republican. the major thing that changed his mind about Racism in this manner was from some university he taught where they were going to eliminate race-based acceptance for black and Latino students and he was appalled by the white professors strongly implying black people are just too poor to not make it to the school even though most of the black students were already from middle-class backgrounds.
