I don't understand that if values are important to you then why don't you marry your values. I do think we are in a hyper polarized time though. Good on her

The narrative that liberal men aren't macho enough..

Does being macho include being a total bigot? About hating the downtrodden?

No matter how tough I wanna be, how can I just not give a fukc about marginalized people? Poor people. Old people. Women. Other races besides white. Disabled people. And yes, LGB..z.

It's ridiculous. If you're a strong person you use your strength against the bad guys. You uplift the weaker among us.
Its crazy how much it’s the opposite.

A lot of conservative men are…
-Coward and afraid to mention where they stand, you have clowns in the thread saying they should lie.
-Into cuckholdIng. A sick and twisted form of racism wanting a black man to “perform” on his wife/girlfriend.
-Obsessed and objectify black bodies (young girls, young boys, women, and men).
-In the closet. We seen too many news stories of republicans in some LGBTQ behavior in secret but publicly homophobic.
-Hypocrites. Cloaked with fake Christianity BS. Claim to be pro-military but would rather remove benefits dedicated for the military.
-Claim to be anti-DEI but benefit the most from DEI polocies.

That's what I never understood...

Why do people act like politics is just politics, and has nothing to do with your personal views.

Your political views literally represent your world views. It's literally about your own morals and believes.
If you support something politically, you also support it personally.

I watched the show so let me try to break it down a little bit so you have an answer:

Sara brought up how she was raised Catholic but moved away from church because her sister is gay and acceptance is a really important value to her. She tried to talk to Ben in the pods about his views and he said that he doesn’t “have a problem with anyone from that community” and that “he has friends that are from that community”. He could not bring himself to say gay even once which was a red flag to most people.
She asked him about BLM because the show was being filmed in Minnesota and that’s where they’re all from, and the murder of George Floyd in MN led to one of the largest civil rights movements of our time. His noncommittal answer was “I don’t think about that stuff” and “I haven’t given it much thought”.
He did say that he believes in equality and he had a very diverse group of friends including one that was gay, so everyone was confused as to why this guy had no views on these issues.
He told Sara that his faith, not religion, was really important to him and she was open to the idea of participating in service with him. She specifically asked him his church’s views on lgbtq+ issues and he skirted the question saying he hasn’t paid attention to that or hasn’t heard anything about that. She went to a sermon at his church, and even watched a sermon online, and found that they held pretty conservative views on marriage equality etc.

In the pods, before they got engaged, he repeated to Sara how he believes in equality and acceptance but didn’t really give pointed opinions. We were all very confused when she said yes to marrying him. He committed to learning and educating himself. Day of the marriage, she decided that he hasn’t really done much research, or shown any interest in learning about her views or engaging with her about these topics, and said no at the altar.

Sorry for the long text but I very much enjoyed the 2 women on the show that said no to their right wing fiancés at the altar!

So when someone says they're personally pro life, but they vote pro choice...?🤔

You should all know that when a certain group of people says “they’re apolitical,” it means they’re too embarrassed to declare that they’re right wing as fukk :mjlol:

trump won twice and won the popular vote this time

and people are still ashamed to admit they fukk with him

he really does represent this nation's id. the worst impulses of people. and they know it :scust:
