Bruh, the first opera I had been to was about these nuns that chose to go to death instead of renouncing their faith during France's Reign of Terror. The climatic ending had a breh in tears. It was the most moving thing I had seen up until that point.
Most black people don't know that our best singers are opera singers. People like Jessye Norman and Kathleen Battle, who could sing circles around Aretha Franklin, Whitney Houston, and the like. It's unfortunate though, because a lot of us don't get introduced to opera, many will never even know them. But they are the successors of Marian Anderson, Leontyne Price, etc.
