GEPORT - A Superior Court jury deliberated about 20 minutes Tuesday before ruling a New York woman is entitled to no money in her lawsuit against her 8-year-old nephew.
In a case that has suddenly burst onto the national news scene, a jury begins deliberating this afternoon whether told hold a Westport 12-year-old responsible for breaking his aunt’s wrist when he jumped into her arms during his birthday party four years ago.
Sean Tarala was a “loving, sensitive,” 8-year-old according to the testimony of his aunt, Jennifer Connell, when she said he leaped in her arms crying “Auntie Jen,” on March 18, 2011.

But now Connell, a 54-year-old human resources manager from New York City, is asking a Superior Court jury to order the boy to pay her $127,000 for breaking her left wrist in his exuberance.
Connell showed no emotion as the verdict was announced but later pleaded with judicial marshals to escort her to her car through a throng of media waiting outside the Main Street courthouse.
She ignored shouts for comments as the marshals led her away.
