The triple S:
Successful and silently suffering.:mjcry:

Thinking a little outside the box, maybe she received some devastating news? Like a terminal diagnosis? Or…she’s just been dealing with depression most of her life and got tired of fighting through it. We will probably never know. May she Rest In Peace. And thankfully nobody below was killed.

I always think of Robin Williams when this comes up.

Out here in my damn drawls
she probably felt she had no one to talk to.

family and "friends" are still missing the point.

RIP.

When you're depressed, the last thing most people want to do is talk to family and friends

You don't want them worried about you and your problems or you just don't want people in your business

That's the reason for putting on a facade like everything is alright

No one sees it coming because most depressed people deliberately keep it from everyone

Bro you're not lying. One thing I've learned just talking to people from all different walks of life is that alot of people are just lost and unhappy. I've seen 20 yr olds depressed because they feel they've failed at life already because they're not living the IG life they think they are. I've seen doctors in their residency unhappy and thinking about a career change because it's not truly what they wanted to do. But both give off the impression that everything is fine on the surface. Just watch people and your loved ones around you. Someone that seems that they have it all can be drowning on the inside. Not saying it's your job to fix them. But you could potentially steer them back ashore if you reach out.

One thing I think social media has done is remove accountability.

For example, in the 90s and 00s, eating disorder were a problem. Models and their agencies came under a lot of scrutiny for promoting an image that was not attainable. People were dissuaded from getting cosmetic surgery in pursuit of the perfect image.

I feel that the internet/social media has allowed the producer to cut out the middleman, or rather set up middlemen who are not under much scrutiny.

You can point towards BBLs being an issue, but it is hard to put a face to the message.

I think a serious discussion on the financial transparency of certain platforms and what they're allowed to circulate is long overdue.

On Facebook, they can easily censor covid related posts. I don't see why products promoting an unhealthy lifestyle should be any different.

As we can see, women can't have it all, motherhood or a career, not both at full tilt.

She tried and burnt out, her accolades were meaningless if she wasn't able to land a man or start a family.

There are millions of broke, struggling women in their 30s who work at Target that aren't jumping off buildings....

She failed herself and her ancestors that surely couldn't conceive their descendants killing themselves...
Society has convinced this generation of women that they’ll find true happiness when they devote themselves to a career. It’s absolute nonsense. A women’s happiness and fulfillment is found by the family they’re able to raise. That’s what they cherish most. Unfortunately a lot of the go-hard career women realize this too late, ie when they’ve aged out of the dating game and are no longer desired or chased by the men they feel they deserve.

I know I'm generalizing, but this is what happens when you place your life's worth on accomplishments. Women are getting the bag, being boss chicks, but seemingly are the most depressed (and single) in history. People, family, community, this is what matters the most and derives the most happiness.:yeshrug:

People have short attention spans.

People also are selfish and don’t care about other people whether they struggling or not. And then the cycle continues over and over. Since the pandemic started I’ve been seeing how self centered the human race is. We’re headed towards nowhere.

This story is just crazy. She was an advocate for mental health and had a counselor, and I'm sure she probably had medication too. I just do not understand why she'd jump out of a window to off herself. It’s still sad she did that but she could’ve put other people in danger, not to mention how traumatizing that was for other people to see. Wow.
