If the starter on a car is going bad you can hit it with a hammer and that actually does help in the short term. Whether it's the brushes or solenoid, hitting it with a hammer will get that bytch starting a couple more times.

he's talking about the starter my nikka. if you hit it with something metal, it bypasses the solenoid and your car may start....if thats what the problem is.
