OP, you keep using the word "they." Who is "they?" Women aren't a monolith. There are women who are enlightened about the double standards that exist between men and women, and there are women who aren't enlightened. We live in a patriarchal society, so you can only expect the male-identified women, who aren't enlightened, to perpetuate the negative double standards you described above.

In order for the double standard to go away they have to be aligned. You can say women aren't a monolith, but for something to be the "standard" their needs to be consistency among most. If a group of people are being oppressed the majority need to agree on what the oppression is and behave in a way that shows that the oppressor that what they are doing is wrong. It doesn't need to be 100% but it needs to be more than 50%

If you want to argue that women are privileged when it comes to dating, I'd have to agree... until a certain point. In the initial "hunt" phase, traditional roles impose that a man has to do everything in his power to get the women interested in him. When he finally "gets the girl" the responsibility shifts to her on catering to him in order to keep the relationship going. The traditional bullshyt imposes that women are hard to get but easy to keep, while men are easy to get and hard to keep. Which is why you hear women saying "He changed."
This is why I don't fukk with traditional mindsets. When the man is winning, the woman is losing and vice-versa.

In the short run, yes. In the long run, the stigma would go away except in extreme cases.

Regardless, women are still not behaving in a way that shows they want this to go away.

And yes, the double standard I'm talking about is the one where men are praised for being promiscuous, while women are shamed for it.

So since they "don't like" this duality in how men and women are perceived, they have two options that would mitigate the double standard, they could

A. Stop criticizing women for being promiscuous. Stop talking about how women need to be difficult and make men jump through hoops to get sex. Stop considering women that do own their sexuality "ho's". Stop believing that their chastity entitles them to a man

or

B. Stop rewarding "playas". Stop being attracted to men that have women. Stop flipping the script when a dude you paid no attention to now has a chick and suddenly you notice how "fine" he is. Stop only dealing with dudes two points above your level that don't put in any work, and ignoring the guy at your level that wants to take you out to dinner.


They can do either one of these, but in general, they do neither (obviously their are exceptions). It's all smoke and mirrors, tho. They cry and complain about the double standard, but they don't want it to go away, mainly because they benefit from it.

I don't look down on women who have a lot of sex. I don't look down on men who have a lot of sex. Or vice-versa. I don't think a man should pay for anything solely because he is a man. I don't think a woman has to be younger than the man she's dating.
I accept that people are different minded individuals who are still trying to figure themselves out.
I don't think anyone has to fit a certain criteria because of their gender as long as they're happy. Realistically though, there are certain patterns and traits of what society considers "traditional." Stick with that if you want. If you don't, try something else. I don't get the confusion here. Double standards are bad regardless of who's imposing it.

There are many exceptions, but if most women felt the way you felt, I don't think this would be an issue.
