Women of the Coli, can you tell me why telling you to smile is offensive?

You don't know what someone is going through maybe it's a reason they aren't smiling. Maybe they have nothing to smile about :ld:

Some people want to be left alone. It depends on what's going on for me. Sometimes I just smile and sometimes I'm like :ld:

Also, another weird no game pick up line is dudes who like to walk up and compliment women's hair as if they as men give a fukk about female hair care :mjlol:

So as a woman who doesn't really find it offensive, can you offer your opinion as to why some do?

I think it has to do with the fact that women feel like it's an order being issued. Do you know the saying "it's not what you say, it's how you say it?" Now if a stranger comes up to me and demand that I smile, I'd flip them off. I would think them rude. It's all about the approach. Will a woman still be offended if an 80 year old man came up to her and say "you should smile more?" Would they see that as demanding or an order too? I don't think so. I think the offense is determined more on the approach of the person or stranger.
