Never really understood how the whole dating on IG thing works. I barely follow people on there that I actually know and associate with in real life, much less any females that are in my general area. Is there some kind of location setting where you can find people in your general radius on there? Are you supposed to know of females beforehand and find them by name? Are you expected to drive potentially hundreds of miles or fly females out if you find one that you hit it off with? I don't really get it.

Either way I don't really have a big social media identity. Deactivated my Facebook a while ago. Mainly just browse IG.

Bumble and Tinder are especially bad for Black men, imo. There's not that many Black women on either and the women of other races on those two apps seem completely uninterested in Black men. It didn't used to me that way, though. The current best app I'm finding is Coffee Meets Bagel.

Yup. i.e. any 8, 9, or dime female with a social media/IG been eating off that ish for a decade now. Same with rich, famous and/or just good looking brehs.

And yea, ever since society transitioned from FB (default mutual following) to Twitter/IG (one-sided)... it birthed that (toxic) clout culture/gamesmanship, where having a lot of followers: "I'm somewhat ___ [rich, famous, important, etc]."

So like someone mentioned if you're an avg dude and your followers/following ratio is 1:2 (i.e. 300 followers but you follow 600 people), the optics are that nobody finds your shyt interesting enough to follow you back...

...which isn't a big deal depending on the females you're after but obviously a dime female with 1,000 unread DMs from her 15k followers may be more inclined to focus on the DMs with blue checkmarks/high followers to see if she got a breh of "importance".

My general rule of thumb is that if she just hits the like button everytime you like something, then she’s being polite. But if she comments back when you like something and/or starts likin your stories? Then you prolly in there
