However left organizations have to follow the playbook of the right. When the first anti-Obama rallies happened in 09, groups like FreedomWorks gathered names, emails, shuttled people to organizer trainings. Of course FreedomWorks had big money donors to pay for legions of community organizers.
Even tho this DC rally is way bigger than the anti-Obama equivalent in 09, right wing orgs better at harnessing anger into political power.
Meanwhile the Dem establishment is channeling $20 million into Third Way, the centrist, anti-populist group that supports the GOP agenda.

I think another part of it is Democrat protests/rallies are bit more trendy. And I obviously don't mean all, but a lot of these protesters are there as a personal badge of honor...so they can say they protested when they're hanging out at Starbucks. They can dine out on this story without going to another rally during Trump's administration.
When republicans protest it's because they're furious (even if it is misguided).

OP I created a link two weeks ago in the Salon if you care to merge. I'm supporting it and its awesome to see so many ladies come together. My alumni girl friends came to DC last night and my colleagues in Frankfurt are marching in the German capital. I may post footage but cellphone is shyt.

There are Women's Marches going on in every major city across the globe today, including Europe and Africa, not just DC It's women showing solidarity and showing support for each other regarding human rights and social awareness. About 20K are participating in San Diego and 75K in Los Angeles respectively based on Facebook replies alone, doesn't account for other social media or those without it. Has absolutely nothing to do with Trump.
This has been planned months in advance and publicized amongst professional and grassroots circles, I found about about it at masjid (mosque).
Super dope because I read was torrential rain and flooding in San Diego yesterday and now the weather is perfect, as usual, again.
That is really offensive and partly the reason brehettes are marching. This is not Amber Rose's Slutwalk. So I wouldn't advise going the local walks trying to pick up women.
Also the condescension on "feminism" is appalling. Human beings deserved to be treated with dignity and respect. Feminism is not just negative male bashing, but women bringing awareness and fighting for justice for themselves and those without a voice.
