Though the colored man is no longer subject to be bought and sold, he is still surrounded by an adverse sentiment which fetters all his movements. In his downward course he meets with no resistance, but his course upward is resented and resisted at every step of his progress. If he comes in ignorance, rags, and wretchedness, he conforms to the popular belief of his character, and in that character he is welcome. But if he shall come as a gentleman, a scholar, and a statesman, he is hailed as a contradiction to the national faith concerning his race, and his coming is resented as impudence. In the one case he may provoke contempt and derision, but in the other he is an affront to pride, and provokes malice. Let him do what he will, there is at present, therefore, no escape for him. The color line meets him everywhere... ~ Frederick Douglass
More than 100 years later, and Frederick's words still ring true today. What are some words that you think blacks would benefit from reading?

He's biracial. That doesn't make his statement any less true. Back then the one drop rule was heavily enforced, so of course one has to change the way they view things.

Don't derail my thread with your bullshyt. I don't have sex, so I can talk about all of the eggplants I want (the threads open if you'd like to submit anything:steviej:). Now, :camby: unless you have something productive to add.

All I know I'm not trying to give 2 shyts what simple minded people think of me...these are the same people who would call for a Hispanic mother to be arrested when a white woman is the one who harrassed her first.

You are a fool if you use white people's logic as the gold standard. You will lose your life or freedom, do not reason with them. Just stay woke.

So you don't abide by it today? Or do you only think that way for the women?
No one with majority white ancestry deserves the wonderful distinction of being called Black, and many of those people would agree with me. Now, do you have anything positive to add?

But what if said biracials go harder and contribute more towards the black community such as the man you just quoted and give birth to people like Malcolm X :lupe: ?
