I had heard about this guy a while back, the guy who runs the Kentucky Sports Radio website/radio show is a big wrestling mark who is a part owner of OVW, had brought this up before.
It really is a genius gimmick for their geographic profile. This is the type of stuff straight from the classic territory days.
There's zero chance a liberal gimmick would get over as either a heel or face on a national scale, zero.
You'd need to model the gimmick after someone with a big cult of personality like Trump, and to a much lesser degree, Ron Desantis has, and that isn't remotely close to existing on the left.
The only political gimmick that could potentially work would be a heel Trump-style gimmick, but even then you're going to run into problems if you run into a red crowd.
Even then I don't really consider it practical to have a gimmick that's going to have to switch between face and heel depending on which side of the political spectrum the audience is that day.
Alas, the only people that want to be reminded of fukking Donald Trump are MAGA cult members, so keep that shyt off my fukking TV.

It would be hilarious if there was a liberal gimmick that was just a caricature of all the dumb shyt the right says liberals are though - minus the whole LGBTQ+ stuff for obvious reasons though. Including that would be a quick way to destroy your business.

Its not genius its actually dangerous. We see how a lot of these neckbeards are with just breaking into womens wrestlers houses and they LIKE them. Imagine what could happen to this guy. Im all for social issues to be brought into wrestling but this is a super divisive matter that could fan flames of bigotry and violence. That aint cool.
