He hands out everyone that works there a check.

I guess I may stick around but how am I supposed to convince my mom? She was telling me that being paid 2.89 an hour is not right and if I work somewhere like McDonalds at least I will be getting minimum wage.
tell her you're gonna confront him and get paid minimum wage wtf?

are you sure he only paid you 2 dollars/hr lmao? maybe your calculations are wrong

I got the paycheck and stub that says how much I was paid an hour.

I should have already been paid minimum wage, I shouldn't have to confront him. He shouldalready be doing that.

You can't survive on the shytty wages and you are going to end up being more depressed by doing it. The best you can do is to leave it and look for something better.

IT is the easiest field to get into. With one certification - doors will open for you.

What about what Reginald Noble said? Instead of leaving he thinks I should stay.

how much did you get paid and how much hours did you work

I worked 40 hours each week for a total of 80 hours after two weeks. I was paid 2.89 an hour and it has 231.20 as total. I had 26.10 deducted from the 231.20 for the restaurant uniform so I ended up with 205.10

Confront the manager. If he fires you, sue him. A lawyer will take the case pro bono (he doesn't get paid until you do.) This is an easy case.

then confront him and get back what you're owed. the law is literally on your side, you have literally nothing to be afraid of

He took $400 from you. That might be ok with you

but that money he didnt pay you, wouldve been taxed. You think the government is gonna let that unpaid tax shyt slide?

theyll do all the work literally. he doesnt want those problems anyways, he'll pay up or fire you (thats when you hit him with the suit)

KEEP every piece of proof, every paycheck, and anything written by your boss.

thanks appreciate it.

At the very least he should have explained the tip policy to me by now correct? Never would have taken the job if I knew I was only paid $2.89 an hour.
How do you not find out how much it pays first :dwillhuh:

And dont threaten him with a lawsuit. Just pull up the state laws regarding compensation and show them to him on your phone if they give you a hard time

I assumed the manager would tell you how much it pays after hiring someone, right?

what if he says he will pay me everything I am owed going forward but won't pay me everything I'm owed the first two weeks?

also, the first few days I wasn't even bussing tables. He had me washing dishes and preparing the silverware and putting them in packets. I was getting paid 2.89 an hour on those days doing responsibilities that I wasn't even going to be tipped for yet he paid me 2.89 an hour on all the responsibilities he had me do.
