TOR --> OAK
All it took was a warning of a yellow card for all these Euro cacs to fall back? :childplease:

All this grandstanding about a western ally that they'll be drinking their oil and using Qatari military bases in silence once this tournament is over.

Why does the world have to bend to their religious beliefs? It’s a fukking WORLD sporting event. If they didn’t want folks there that are against their religion they should have not vied for the tournament (and brought in slave labor to build the stadiums).

Is it bending to someone's religious beliefs if you're invited into their home and you're told there will be no alcohol served?

At the end of the day it's still their country and you're a guest. Nobody has the right to be at the world cup outside of the participating athletes. If they required female athletes to wear burqas while playing soccer you might have a point. But anything short of affecting the actual quality of the sport is fair game in their country.

If you don't like it don't go.

You don’t have to criticize their culture even if you don’t respect it or believe the same.

It’s like how here in USA if you work at some spots you gotta wear rainbow themed uniforms even if you’re not pro LGBT

Part of our culture is “accepting” everyone regardless of what you believe

USA has freedom of religion which includes freedom “not to believe” and everyone lives as they chose.

And that’s why they look at us as not a “Christian” nation. In the same way we see view them as a Muslim country.

Why do people think they can force their beliefs and way of life on foreign countries that have their own laws and policies? :heh:
Look I agree.

But the fault is on FIFA for agreeing to put it on there in the first place.

Can’t have a ‘global tournament’ like that in that country and not expect a shytstorm of human rights issues to pop up from media all over the world.

Damn near 5000 migrants are dead building it ffs.

I do have to criticize a culture that stones and murders people for being gay.

The problem is according to them that’s what their God says.

You’d have to infringe on their religious beliefs

And in their country you can’t do that.

You’d have to let them and their fellow Muslims deal with their own issues

MAYBE you can criticize them using the teachings of Jesus

“let him without sin throw the first stone”

Because Muslims claim to believe in Jesus, right? :youngsabo:

Otherwise how can you criticize religion from the outside looking in :manny:
