This is categorically not true. He actually is one of the most efficient international players in the world. The only knock is he needs to become more selfish and score more goals. Messi is GREAT.Barca was great more because of him than anything. Taking nothing from Xavi, Iniesta, etc. Argentina just doesn't have the quality in mid and defense to capitalize

I didnt see many of their full matches in the qualifiers but from what i have seen of the highlights and reports it seems they finally found a manager who could assemble a side that was good enough to breeze through the qualifiers. Their team has improved and i think its because they stopped trying to recreate the Barca set up for the NT.
