I played WoW when it was bumping (when I was in college)...now I play LoL (although mostly I go to work now).
Yes, I'm comparing them because they are 2 of the most dominant PC games in the past 10 years. Being free is completely irrelevant and you can spend plenty of money on either game if you choose. WoW should have dropped the subscription before the Pandas got released, fatal mistake by Blizzard. They've been desperate since Arthas got merked and Diablo 3 didn't help their brand much because shyt's weak.
100 million is a misleading number. I played at the height and it was around 11 million. Chinese gold farmers probably make up a quarter of the accounts right now lol. At the same time though, I'd be lying if I said I didn't have fond memories from my WoW days. It was fun but I don't think I could ever go back.
so they should of stopped $150 million a month in revenue ...for what exact reason?
