That's counterintuitive. because it's far cheaper to maintain rail once it's been put down than it is to maintain roads.

So it's cheaper to get the process set up but it's going to cost a lot more in the long term. Just wait until all the potholes start appearing or the road warps under the weight.

That’s actually an interesting question.

Would it actually cost more to maintain that road? Particularly since you’d expect less wear and tear because the only vehicles on it would be trams. Not several million cars per year.

Real conservatism is bringing back cities designed for people and the tax rates of the 1950s that prevented billionaires from existing and allowed a man to raise a family on one income.

All we have now is two parties full of corporate bootlickers who think it's fine that a 60 year old 2 bedroom apartment in a city can cost 500k or one million. And that its fine for tax money to go to corporations that are purposefully trying to create mass unemployment with ai and automation.
