3DS had a false start as well, but right now it's dropping pure crack seemingly week after week.

To me it's weird they fukked up the Wii U launch as bad as the 3DS launch but if they can recover from it the same way they did with the 3DS...

3DS is attractive for 3rd party niche releases and remakes of Nintendo's past.

They clearly came out half baked this new generation, no excuse for that but their best games are starting to come out. Both Animal Crossing and Pikmin 3 will be system sellers. Furthermore, they did a considerable price drop on the system. The Wii-U was never really meant to have a long shelf life based on Nintendo's strategy. Don't get me wrong the Wii-U will be a failure compared to the Wii, but their success with the 3DS is balancing them out as it currently stands. Let's not compare Nintendo to where Sega was in the Dreamcast days, the situation is not even close.

The 3DS didn't have better competition to deal with. 3DS sucks, but what is the alternative for handheld gaming? An expenisve Vita that sucks even more.
So either abandon the handheld market or get one of those. 3DS is just the least sucky handheld. It needed a crucial price drop and a bunch of games to be successful. Nintendo is slow to do that for the Wii-U and even doing that won't matter because once Xbox One and PS4 hit? Why would anyone care to play as the other guy said, Animal Crossing and Pikmin

Although I agree its foolish to count Nintendo out and also that they are very important in the gaming industry for thinking outside the box, but they aren't the only ones innovating. This gen we saw online gaming develop by leaps and bounds, on the horizon we see indies going strong, oculus rift, augmented reality. there is innovation taking place outside of Nintendo. And I personally don't think the wii u game pad is a gimmick, I recently picked up a wii u and MH3U and playing with the game pad is incredible. I haven't tried any other games yet but I can see myself really falling in love with this control scheme.

You right. The PS3/ 360 gen saw all kinds of online gameplay and free downloadable games. What will the PS4/ X-One will bring outside of slightly faster internet speeds and better graphics?

They need to put a fork in this shyt, cause its well fukkin done..

To be honest, they deserve everything they get. They add that cheap ass resistive tablet that cant do any calculations itself, has terrible range, and doesnt have the appeal that todays popular tablets have. They knew the Wii motion controls were a fad, and, seeing this new tablet fad, tried to capitalize on that, but failed MISERABLY.
They rehash Mario after Mario after MARIO game...i mean damn we all love mario, but can we get something new?
Then dont let me get started on they online system and UI...they reserved 50 percent of the damn ram for system resources, yet when you want to message somebody while you are playing a game, you have to first press the home button and then wait around 30 seconds or so just for the miiverse to load..to message your friends..
So somebody tell me why the HELL the system is so much slower than PS360 desipite having 4 times the RAM on updated hardware??
THen theres the archaic transfer of games...and the fact that all the retro games are expensive...just L's all around.
