Some of you cats are delusional. Nintendo would have to drop the ball for the next 2-3 gens before it would be a problem. If Sony can have the best selling console of all time (PS2) then lose more money on the PS3 than they ever made on the PS2.....and still bounce back, how can you sit there and say Nintendo is done after literally one bad launch?

Fred.
Sony made some mistakes as well but one thing they have never done was disappoint gamers when it comes to games. They always come with something for everybody and they are willing to invest in new and uncertain projects rather they sell 1 mil or 100 mil,
As long as it meant bringing gamers new experiences. Nintendo makes different kinds of games but they are mostly geared towards one type of gamer, children.

Their first party line up rivals the nintendo of today and you can make a argument that their first party games are better than nintendo of today.

They still have the gamers on their side and thst means alot more than selling 100 million gimmicky consoles to middle age mothers and grannys

I think Nintendo can bail itself of this by doing 3 things.

1. Price Drop - Make the 32 Gig set, the only option and make it $250 and make the deluxe $299
2. Get more Niche Titles, make more Wii/Gamecube games downloadable, especially 1st party and RPG's
3. Fix the stupid online stuff.

Make deluxe $225. Pump out steady first party games, charge $5-7 extra to recoup some hardware losses. Invest in smaller studios. Bring in the gamecube to the virtual console. Work on a possible hardware addition to improve specs.

They might have a chance doing that.

They need to throw in a traditional hard drive in there, but we all know how stubborn Nintendo is.

LOL You hate the big N worse than Courtdog hates Sony. When the gaming industry crashes and smartphones take up the majority share of software sales, then you will understand. What will the PS4 and X-One offer more than better graphics?
you just say better graphics but all the horsepower those consoles have will let developers make more and more complex games in comparison to what they were making. bigger and better game worlds with more going on on screen.

the irony of all of this was last i knew Nintendo was losing money on Wii U consoles sold and Sony put together the PS4 at close to its actual MSRP. they may lose a bit on it but nothing major. basically Nintendo could have dropped the Wii U Gamepad and pushed out a more powerful console as a trade off. possibly even put the gamepad out as a separate device. honestly nobody has really done anything innovative with it anyway not even Nintendo.

That has nothing to do with anything breh. I'm not defending Nintendo, Wii-U IMO is trash. So was the Wii, outside of a few games.

Having said that, and being completely unbiased, it doesn't change the fact that Nintendo would have to literally fukk up for 2-3 gens straight, non-stop, for it to affect them like people are saying.

It LOOKS like its beginning right now. The way I see it, the wii u was not made with the intention of having a long life cycle. We have been saying it since it dropped, that console was created merely to catch up with the 360 and ps3 which both have about 3 years left because the wii hit a brick wall. Nintendo will release another console in the next 4 years, and it will be on the level of the One and ps4. I see it flopping, and that will make 2 flopped systems, with the lack of third party support, and general consumer disinterest. They dug themselves into a hole with the wii, and the question is how do they dig themselves out? I dont see it.

I could be wrong, but I dont think I am.

No offense breh but you're assuming a lot. And I mean a lot. Who knows how the Wii-U will sell in the grand scheme of things. Let's say it's a flop. You can't just magically guess their next console will flop too. If we could go back to the Gamecube, and try to imagine Wii selling like it did....it's impossible. You can't assume anything gen to gen. A lot can change in a year, let alone 4-5 years.

Nintendo needs to create some expansion pack to help with the graphics because I can no longer tolerate it's primitive visuals. I gave PS3 a chance as my favorite developer NaughtyGod dropped another classic so that was excusable but that is on old hardware. How much RAM does the Wii U even have?? Does it even lift?

how can this be true :dwillhuh:
you do understand to this day PS3 losses total over 4 billion dollars right? that's even factoring in the game division making it to profitability. it may be ran on a profit now but those profits have never and will never make up that 4 billion in initial losses.
