So. Cal
The Broncos still would have won it all.
I disagree. We made a nice run at the end of that season and the ref fukked us because we owned the niners during the 90s. But it is what it is. Point still stands it was one of the worse missed calls that litterally changed the outcome of the game.

That was a bad call too. What it shows is how important being able to review calls is. If they had replay then that would have been ruled a TD almost 100% of the time.

I wish they could review everything

That was a great catch by Renfro that should have counted.

I don’t think it was as impactful for the result as the others discussed though.

It was at the end of the 3rd quarter. Instead of tying the game at 17, Houston settled for a FG and cut it to 17-13. Pittsburgh dominated the fourth quarter anyway and won 27-13.

You can say it hurt some momentum, but it seemed Pittsburgh was just too good. It was their 4th SB in 6 seasons. The Steel Curtain was iconic as one of the best defenses ever, and they shut down Earl Campbell all day long.

But the others, the controversial calls were at the end of the game and so impactful

Yeah, it’s hard to picture Denver losing that SB.

Everyone remembers Minnesota and how it would have been a great SB if they had beaten Atlanta. Everyone also seems to only blame Gary Anderson, when there were several huge plays that would have sealed it.

Maybe it would have been a great close game, but I don’t think so. The Vikings were really banged up. They likely would have been without their best defensive player. John Randle injured his knee during garbage time in the NFC Divisional. He wasn’t able to play down the stretch of the Atlanta game because of his knee.

Ed McDaniel was a Pro Bowl LB that season, and he also injured his knee in the Atlanta game. Dixon Edwards was another starting LB and he got hurt during the game.

I think there’s a pretty good chance that Denver would handle Minnesota fairly easily with their zone scheme running game

Was watching this with some friends including one who is a huge Giants fan. He was :stylin: all through the first half......

When :to: got going and the Giants couldn't stop him and Garcia his attitude completely flipped :mjlol:

A key factor was the Terrell Owens-Jason Sehorn matchup.

TO was lining up in the slot and it was Sehorn’s responsibility to try to cover him. He had pretty much no hope.

Definitely. I remember Sehorn trying to tackle him and holding on for dear life :mjlol:

Owens ended the game with 177 yards 2 TDs and 2 Two-point conversions :pachaha:
