this area is a basketball hotbed

we love the Redskins more, but basketball is the number one sport.

When Jordan came back, and when the Wizards had Gil, it was incredible. This should be a destination market, and yet its ran so incompetently.

This is basketball region. Even though it was brief, the Gilbert Arenas era had this place buzzing. It was amazing :wow:

The Sweet Science
I can never forgive Michael Jordan for trading away Rip. He did sign Larry Hughes who helped in 2004-2005 (a contract year :aicmon: ) but trading Rip and messing up the 2001 and 2002 drafts just sucked.

Plus, Michael Jordan coming to play sucked too cause he made us too good in 2002 and 2003 to be in the top 5.

Kwame was a terrible pick but would Eddy Curry been any better ? Hindsights a motherfvcka but if I remember right, at the time most people had the Wizards using the number 1 pick on a toss up between Kwame, Tyson or Eddy. The draft had alot better to offer than those 3(though Tyson has made a nice career for himself) but in workouts they said Kwame was cooking them boys

He was able to flip Laron Profit for Haywood if Kwame wouldnt have been such a weak minded piece of sh!t that could have been a pretty solid maybe even good front court.

2002 draft was overall some garbage. Who at the time would you have drafted in place of Jared at 11? Looking back the few players available that I would take over Jefferies were in the 2nd round outside maybe Prince who wasnt clear cut better than Jefferies at the time.

I always get confused in 2002 because Caron and Amare were taking two picks before Jeffries :snoop: but yeah outside of Prince the rest of that draft wasn't good. We also drafted Juan Dixon there too.

The Haywood trade was good and Ernie's first extension to him was great. Brendan was under-used by Eddie Jordan... keeping Etan was horrible.

Yep we rarely make excuses either, all these years of losing we tell it like it is.....

:snoop: getting rid of Crawford though who was apart of the future core.....this better be a build up to something huge this offseason...

How you gonna ROFL with a hollow back?
No. Hammond can atleast draft guys. He drafted Jennings, Ilyasova, Mba Moute is a great defender, Larry Sanders is having a breakout season.

Grunfeld hasn't drafted anyone. Wall and Beal probably are his best picks but they're top 3 picks. McGee was a good pick at 18 but he (still) is dumb as rocks. Blatche in the 2nd round was a good pick but the 2nd extension was horrible. I think Nick Young was an okay pick.

Grunfeld just doesn't know how to build a team. For all his good moves (signing Arenas in 2003, trading Kwame for Caron in 2005)... its far outweighed by sucking in the draft, overpaying role players, and giving away players like Crawford for nothing.

LOL, this just reminded me of the game the other day they was playing the Celtics and this fukking idiot goaltended a 3 point shot, what a fukking idiot. :heh:
