A few years back I was out of work and on the search. My sister ends up getting me an interview with her State Farm agent. I had no business even applying for this as I lacked the experience but since my sis and her agent were cool (daughters went to school together), I get the interview basically as a favor.
I already had an interview earlier that day before going to the agency's residence. I had to wait a lil bit since she was running late but when she finally arrived it had me like
. Shorty was bad as she had a short hairdo, shades and jean jacket outfit (I expected the traditional power suit). I didn't judge the book by it's cover as I knew she was about business. The interview's going alright as she's asking me general questions but eventually I get one directly about the job where I don't know the answer. shyt caught me so off guard (honestly, I didn't take the interview seriously since I knew I was out of my league) that I froze. I literally froze up and couldn't say anything brehs. Couldn't even come up with a bullshyt answer.
My face basically went from:
to
The agent:
to
We get through the interview agreeing in the end that she should hire the best person. She told me it would be a couple of weeks before they have an answer but she e-mailed me the next day saying they moved on.
I felt so embarrassed for myself but even more since it happened in front of one of my own people. I also felt bad since it looked bad on my sister as she was trying to help and I'm sure she hyped me up a great deal to her agent. My family straight clowned me after that interview for freezing up. I would run into the agent months later when I picked up my niece from school. We were on our way out as she was coming in. Let's just say that greeting was mad awkward.
What are some of y'all worst job interviews? I know there's some far worse than mine.
