It wasn't the worst Rumble ever by any stretch of the imagination (PLEASE rewatch the 1995 Rumble if you think that this one was the worst), but I will say this about WWE's decision-making:

If the WWF had some random star from the late 80s/early 90s win the Rumble instead of Steve Austin, the WWE might not exist right now. This is SUICIDAL, TNA-level booking at work here.

The problem was that everyone knew he was gonna be back in December and they built it up like he was Rock/Austin.

There's nothing he did/said on Monday that made anyone want to see him in the ring again. All they had to do was make him a surprise entrant and let him win and it wouldn't be as bad. The surprise and the newness of him back could have kicked in tonight instead of a month ago. The announcement did them no favors.

It's like they don't even watch the shyt they produce. Put the hottest guy in the industry in the opener, let him get MOTN without a serious injury in the match (storyline wise), don't have him compete in the match that guarantees a match at WM, then be surprised when the crowd shyts on the winded guy who won the match brehs..

The match wasn't that bad, pretty average Rumble. It was very disappointing that there was no Brock or Bryan though.

Well, I mean...it all boils down to one thing, brehs:

...in all seriousness though, Bryan'll probably win Elimination Chamber and maybe there'll be a match on Raw to decide whether he or Batista goes to 'Mania.
