I always thought Magic and Heat were odd team names. It's not Orlando Magicians, it's Orlando Magic.

They're called the Magic and not the Magicians because of Disney World and "The Magic of Walt Disney World".

Disney World is located in Bay Lake, FL which is apart of the Orlando–Kissimmee–Sanford Metropolitan Statistical Area.

Heat? There's the Calgary Flames. You can be a flame, but how can you be a heat? That's like naming a team cold or warm.

I'm used to it now after all these years.

Heat is an appropriate name. Miami is the only major city in the continental US to have a tropical climate.
