It's mostly how about you market your degree, not the degree itself.
If I had a degree in Philosophy I would market the qualities of that degree.

People go into the work force expecting the degree to speak for itself, but that isn't going to cut it. The next guy may have the same degree and can interact and sell himself better than you, or he may have a less valuable degree.

Learn how to sell yourself or go to medical school.

Bingo. Being that I had a writing intensive major, knowing how to write gave me a leg up on the competition.

My degree is "worthless", but I make 82K and I'm not even 30 yet. The skills I learned as a History major worked out in my favor.

I agree, there are so many other degrees out there that can help you get a well paying job. I started my career at 25 making 85k, now 5 years later I am at 130k+.
Unfortunately, I live in an area that has a high cost of living. But really, there are other pathways to getting a decent job that does not include a stem degree.

How did you end up getting a job doing that? How did you sell your degree?

I'm terrible at math and don't think I have a chance with anything stem, and thought I should just major in English or something because I'm almost done with school.

But if there's hope for me, then I can stop worrying about dropping out and scrambling trying to find a career.

I work for an investment bank. I do marketing and project management.

Please tell me this is true because it seems like that's the only way to make a good living, and I'm shyt in stem.

My career path has been unorthodox to say the least. I didn't do law school because the climate was and continues to be bad for graduates. I took an unpaid internship with a major media company after graduation to learn how digital works. Being in a writing intensive major helped me a lot as I provided a skill they needed. From there I began to learn different CMS, programming languages and how to project manage. Seven and a half years later I'm at one of the top firms in the world. Went from making nothing in the literal sense to being close to six figures and doing better than most of my peers financially. It took hard work. Nothing was handed to me. I've been laid off multiple times and unemployed for long stretches.

Depending on the market, there are 20 graduates for every one job. I know lawyers who do not recommend law school to people looking at it as an option.

What year are you in school?

I'm about to be a junior, I'm transferring so I got my AA and now I'm undecided on what to major in because now I keep hearing about stem this and stem that, and I'm beyond horrible at math. I drank the college koolaid and went instead of getting a trade , and I figured since I'm almost done I might as well get my BA.

I know stem is what everyone says gets you a good high paying job, and even business has calculus, so I feel like I got no options and will get a "worthless" degree. I would love to do CS or something IT, but I know I would be wasting my time.

Kind of in the same boat as you.
I was an electrician in the military, but I got out and I work in the education field now as an associate teacher.

Getting a education degree would be easy, but I’m also intrigued by the STEM field. I’d love to do civil engineering, but the school I’m looking at down here doesn’t offer evening classes for that degree.

They do however have electrical and mechanical engineering classes in the evening that I could take after I leave my school job every day.

Only thing that scares me and making me apprehensive about it are the math classes.

Who u telling? I'm not trying to try out a major, waste time and potentially fail. I'm not doubting myself, I'm honest. But I do want a good job out of college. I also hate school and also told myself I would never be a teacher. So I'm just stressin.

But the good thing is math is something that can be learned with time and effort. Unlike being athletic or born with good genes, nobody is born good at math.

I be watching videos about calculus and differential equations on YouTube and that shyt makes my head hurt lol

Just gotta stay practicing it man
