I think it's perfect for all-star games and exhibition games but don't think it'd do well full time.
@Absolut you in Vegas bruh you'd know the mindset of people there. Would they buy season tickets like that?

If you can bet on anything it will survive.

I hear the Mets Minor League team in Vegas draws 5K attendance daily & their 80 miles from Vegas.

where would you put the stadium without creating a crazy amount of traffic that already exists for The Strip ? Not only that, not too sure the casino people would want another activity to steal away people from their floors.. The only place I could think of is South Vegas by McCarron Air Port..

Exactly. Vegas has no space whatsoever, which is strange because it in the middle of the desert. But it's dense. Also this post above is correct. The casinos don't want ANYTHING taking their market share.

They are building a stadium near the strip. If the team was a winner people would go, but otherwise I don't see a team having success here. Too many transplants from other cities, they would go to games to see their favorite team from the area they moved from. They wouldn't become fans of the new vegas team. The casinos wouldn't care because the games near the strip would draw locals more so than tourists to the area. Locals that otherwise don't go to that area very often, who might decide to pop in your place for an after game dinner or drink

exactly. locals wont support it enough unless its a top flight team, and tourists do come here for standalone events (all star game, boxing, mma etc) but there wouldnt be enough tourist support for 41 basketball games. i dont see it working out, but i do think they eventually will take a shot at it

all those events happen inside the Casinos/Hotels already for the most part. Casinos wouldnt approve something 5-10 miles away from the Strip to take away attention from the Strip, they are even building new hotels/attractions towards the north side of the S Las Vegas BLVD (SLS Hotel for instance and all the new hotels will be in that pocket), they arent going to go more south of Mandalay Bay, which would be the only ideal area I could even see a stadium. A stadium throws a wrench in all those plans for the new strip.

Also tourists arent going to go to a game, then drive to a hotel/casino to buy over priced food when they can just buy over priced food and fat tuesdays at the game. A professional sport/team benefits the Casinos no way and can only effect them negatively, they will veto that shyt quick.

of course this is all speculation so none of these posts mean anything

the arena is right near the strip. they are proposing 2 actually, one for each end of the strip. the team would be for the locals, the casinos wouldnt dictate shyt anyways about a pro sports team coming here. hundreds of thousands of people flock to vegas for the edc/nascar etc, and that shyt is literally an hour from the strip.
