Would Drake and Nicki be where they are now without Wayne promoting them?

I thought this was Pusha T song (Cook It Down) :dwillhuh:

I'm confused. Did Drake and Push remix that and make a vid?
How the hell haven't I heard this before
How could you have missed this :russ:. Well it didn't really blow up but it was on that album that got that fake 5 mic rating.

Pusha-T's shyt was a mixtape joint.

This shyt is like reverse world. I gave Push credit for Cook It Down for years. Like this nicca Push made a wavy hook :damn:
It was a mixtape originally but I'm sure Fear Of God is available on iTunes officially :wtf:

I could honestly see Nicki being as big, but her fame would come later, her buzz was bigger than drake's. She filled a niche as a female rapper that could actually rap.
Nicki isn't the only female rapper. It's damn near impossible to get to the spot Nicki is at for a Female

Wayne legitimized her just Wayne did Drake

She also didn't blow up until YM started doing more and more colabs

Lol, it's most likely a throwaway Drake song from TML, which he gave to Bun. Boi1da beat and Drake hook.

Nicki isn't the only female rapper

But who else was there? There was no popular female rapper in the late 2000s.

She also didn't blow up until YM started doing more and more colabs

I agree, she benefitted A LOT from Bed Rock but, but i believe that she would have been able to blow up without it, probably a few years after she blew up with YM.

Wayne legitimized her just Wayne did Drake

She also had Gucci, while he wasnt nearly as big as wayne he could still put rappers on. She wasnt some stranger off of the street that no one ever heard of before YM like Tyga

She wasn't known when she was with Gucci at All.

What got her on was being around Wayne and that "Donk" freestyle

You are right this is all hypothetical so she couldn't be blown up

But mainstream rap is largely built on cosigns

Nicki eventually would have, but Drake definitely would have done it. A lot of people heard Best I Ever Had, before they knew he was linked with Wayne. The Young Money co-sign helped. I will admit Forever put him over the top though

Nicki didn't even link up with Gucci till after she was already with YM...the first mixtape she ever put out has the YM logo on it...before that, it wasn't shyt but smack DVD freestyles. ..Wayne put here on drought 3 in 07, shyt was bigger than most albums that year...she was approached and signed with Mizay Ent (which is what led to the gucci connection , which truth be told, has been greatly overblown in hindsight) for management waaaaay after she was already getting consigned by Wayne....basically all that to say, none of that happens the way it did either if wayne didn't initially put her on

Along those same lines...RAL hasn't blown an artist up since the mid-late 90s...there's a reason Jas went to wayne instead of just going thru his pops

Drake: yes, Nicki: don't think so. Nicki was a wannabe Foxy Brown at that time
