It woudlnt be good. Imagine if there was no ps4. Xbox would still be 599. With always online check ins. With no used game support. Etc. Etc.

Well yeah, if all the games were there. But they wouldn't be. What incentive would Sony and MS have to push themselves to make 1st party content? They only do it to sell their respective platforms.

I been PC gaming since Apple II. Plus most PCs support multiple inputs, so you can hook up your Xbox/PS3 controller and play it.
