Would ‘Juice’ had been a better movie if not for the horror twist ?

it must of struck a nerve with you :mjlol:

You're describing the overall synopsis and not the actual scenes in the movie. You ain't slick lol

Bishop was always a psycho, his peoples didn't realize until he killed Raheem.
Bishop got excited when Blizzard stuck up the bar and manipulated Raheem to get the gun after:

Q was the only one who saw it when he called him crazy the first time, it was too late:

He was acting like he was down with the crew until he got what he really wanted:

"We crew, always will be... ain't no man above the crew, you know that shyt."
A couple lines of dialogue after being called crazy again, "I don't give a fukk about you, I don't about Steel, and I don't give a fukk about Raheem, either. I don't give a fukk about myself. Look: I ain't shyt, I ain't never gone be shyt."

Dude sacrificed the crew because he was too weak to do his own dirt and knew it.
Deep down he hated the crew as much as he hated Radames for similar reasons.
The horror twist was at the start of the movie, @1:46

Peep the gun necklace.

:what: TheColi ain’t rockin with juice? The horror/thriller twist is what makes it great. You was going in for a normal coming of age hood movie. But it subverted your expectations by turning into a thriller. If Juice would’ve stayed a regular coming of age story. I 100% bet it wouldn’t been as memorable.

- This notion that Juice isn't a classic or outright a bad movie is a very new concept to me.
- Anybody who actually grew up in the hood probably has seen a couple comparable heel turns and 'horror' stories
- There were subtle hints to where Bishop was headed from the very begining, it wasn't some quick switch

Ya'll crazy ... Juice is a classic

Boyz in the Hood and Baby Boy are the movies that are overrated
I wouldn't say they are straight up overrated, but overpraised. A large reason why baby boy is so revered is that everyone who grew up on BET has seen it and can relate to it to some capacity. Not necessarily the quality.

I haven't ever been to california but I imagine boyz in the hood is the same for folk out there. Not everyone can relate to juice, but it's a very real reality, especially now that it's visible on social media. I think that's why people act funny about it. Juice is definitely a classic, and the best pac film in my opinion.

The very first scene you see him in with his dad sitting in the room you can tell he had some deep issues. Then being bullied on top of that? Takes a rewatch to understand his view
