He didn't dump Pharrell. The Neptunes chose not to work with JT because of a label dispute between Jive and Clipse. There was no bad blood between them. The Neptunes were being loyal to their friends by not producing and making the label who's jiving (pun intended) them money. JT had no quarrels because he still had Timbaland and did well.

Chris Brown doesn't even write or produce his own music. Dude barely passes for an artist. He's a great dancer and an ok singer. There's plenty of artists who've debuted in the past decade better than CB. Miguel is one of them for starters.
