Slight edge to Tip

50s fall off was as monumental as his rise. GRODT is a top 25 hiphop album, but you can't pay someone to listen to a 50 song now. And you can make an argument he only had a 5 year run... which is good, but Tip got a 25 year run... his new shyt bopping as we debate this now.

In a Verzuz TI has so many different sounds he can counter with. 50 can't. 50 might have 3 types of songs people fukk with, and he doesn't have a deep catalog of most of them...
1. Gangsta shyt... this is his deepest topic
2. Club shyt...
3. Songs for the ladies
Yep. People really inflate 50's career into being more than it really is.

Even here in Queens, 50 was just out of many people's radar after 2007. His audience became very niche. He's been musically washed for close to 20 years to everyone but G Unit fans.

Plus, I think even a number of his major hits will be more polarizing to the Verzuz audience than people think. Remember....people thought Dipset would wipe the floor with the LOX because their sound was seen as catchier and more accessible only for it to run dry against the LOX's more grittier sounding material and stellar performances.

I could totally see In Da Club, Many Men, Hate It Or Love It, 21 Questions, I Get Money, Outta Control Remix, and Hustler's Ambition having strong rounds against TI. Arguably Big Rich Town too. But I think PIMP, Wanksta, Window Shopper, Stunt 101, Just A Lil Bit, Baby By Me, I Wanna Get To Know You, Best Friend, and How We Do won't resonate nearly as much as people outside of G Unit fans think. And that's not even touching on his weaker songs like Candy Shop, Disco Inferno, Ayo Technology, Amusement Park, Gatman And Robbin, Blood Hound, Build You Up, So Amazing, etc.

50 has been carried by White Eminem fans' nostalgia and a diehard overseas fanbase for so long that I think he might delude himself into thinking he doesn't have to be picky with his setlist to resonate with the 30/40 something Black hip hop heads in the Verzuz audience. And that could set him up to get destroyed by TI like Dipset did. He would need an OG who really knows his catalog to help him curate it.

50 got bangers no doubt... but someone posted "You Don't Know Me" at the Apollo... 50 gotta use a "What Up Gangsta" to compete with that vibe. That's one of 50's joker cards right there, and for TI its BARELY a top 20 song.

50 chose money over music, and that's why he fell off. You can't do both in perpetuity. You got a small window where you can do both because you got the culture. 50 didn't have the culture in 07 and should've chose music. We know he chose money because when his shyt wasn't buzzing in 07, he suddenly grabbed Tim and Justin... song was banger, but it wasn't organic, YOU KNOW he only did that because his first singles weren't buzzing. But it was in a banger like Flo-Rida or Mims made a banger. That's why he has no career now.

I actually rock with 50, but I tend to like his more obscure shyt, his Rowdy Rowdy, I'm a Hustler shyt. He had glimmers of it on Aftermath, but I get it, success changes people.

Low-key, I think it's why he beefs with Jay-Z because Jay-Z does BOTH way better than 50 ever could.

I knew I was missing one. That song would definitely need to be played by 50.

Overall, 50 would have to be very picky with his setlist because, to the average rap fan who isn't chronically online, 50 has been post Mesmerize Ja Rule status since 2008. If you talk to regular people about 50, the biggest highlights of his career are still from 2002-2005. Sure....he had a few highlights after that like I Get Money, Baby By Me, and Big Rich Town. Maybe the Jeremih feature too. But, other than that, that's basically 90% of his musical legacy.

And that's something that might penalize 50 in Verzuz because, after a while, those Shady/Aftermath style songs will start to blend in whereas TI has more diverse sounding songs stretched across more eras.

And yes....50's main beef with Jay is because he can't "son" Jay on any level. Not lyrically, musically, financially, or reputation wise. It's the same thing that broke Dame Dash. 50 and Dame desperately want to be able to talk down on or feel superior to Jay but there's no objective way for them to do that and it kills them inside.

I knew there was more to it

Tip gotta realize 50 was only working with him business wise for a show.. the irony of it all is I think the show was based on 50 wanting Tip to play a hip hop cop

Ever since Tip went public calling 50 out for a “friendly” battle, 50 has done nothing but disrespect dat nikka. Brought up the snitch shyt multiple times, clowned his comedy, checked him on the King Von comments, posted a meme where Tiny was George Jefferson, called him King rat. I was surprised it took this long for Tip to finally start talkin negatively about him cuz 50 BEEN clownin him

I’d be surprised if we don’t get a diss track on his kill the king album

I fukk wit Fif but he goin too far with it. Tip never came at him like dat originally. He treating Tip like he Ja Rule. Ross clowned 50 son months ago tho. This gon be interesting cuz 50 gets booked in Miami all the time… Atlanta will stand behind Tip. I wanna see what happens next time he booked there for a liquor signing or something

Not sayin somethin will happen but TI is about honor. I remember he tried Floyd in Vegas
