7 Bingo Smith
22 Larry Nance
25 Mark Price
34 Austin Carr
42 Nate Thurmond
43 Brad Daugherty

Those are the jerseys already retired in Cleveland.

All things considered, Lebron played out his contract before leaving, never held out for $$$/never demanded to be traded, and over several years took the Cavs franchise higher than they'd ever been.

He played there longer than Larry Nance and probably almost as long as Brad Daugherty. Seems like Dan Gilbert is over the Decision for the most part.

By all rights, he probably deserves it

Eventually it will get retired, but probably not for a while. He has pretty much every significant franchise record.

Good point.
I'm looking at the individual franchise records right now, and I might have exaggerated a little bit. He is top 3 in every significant category, but still. It will go up once enough time passes. It might be after Dan Gilbert leaves though.

Once they get good again they'll forget about it. Denver fans got over the melo hatred as soon as they broke the franchise record for wins. Give Cleveland a few years to rebuild around kyrie and they'll get over it. And he'll ultimately be remembered for how great he was not the decision

If he wins more rings in Miami Heat and I don't think the Cavs will.

1. he left Cleveland (Lebron's home state)
2. he broke his promise to bring a championship to Cavs, he said, "I will bring a championship to the city of Cleveland before I retire"
3. he went on national TV and boasted about his talent instead of a humble signing, He also didn't tell the Cavs before his decision he was going to leave. Team had to rebuild.

I don't think the Cavs fans want to forget that.

Not unless he comes back and wins a championship.

Guys leave teams all the time, but I had never seen that type of reaction that he got before with all kinds if crazy and pure hatred from the old fanbase. I just can't see it.
