Would the Cavs record be any worse with Wiggins right now?

Guys really thought that Love was going to average 25 & 12 on this Cavs team. I thought he'd be around 18 & 9, but not this inefficient.

What team is going to give up their big for Waiters, Bennett, and Thompson? Unless it's IND, I can't see too many teams jumping at that opportunity.

He's 30 now, Cleveland has to take advantage of him being the best player in basketball while they can. They already lost 4 years of his peak, who knows how long it will take for Wiggins to develop into a contributor on a title team? Had to take a risk.
If he wanted to take advantage of his peak now, he should have stayed in Miami. Because it looks he will have to wait anyways.

The whole point of trading Wiggins for Love was that LeBron was getting older and they didn't have time to wait, yet realistically they aren't going to win the title this year, I'd be stunned if they come out the East with how talented and deep the Bulls are. Yeah Wiggins isn't tearing up the world, but neither is Love, and Kevin is just as miserable of a rim protector as expected, probably surprising a lot of you who didn't get to watch him how little impact he has on changing shots.

If they had Wiggins out there with Kyrie and Bron this year, how would things really be any different from what they have to do moving forward? They'd still need a center that can defend the paint, they'd still need another year or two before they'd have a true shot at the title, I mean whoever comes out the West is going to be a problem, and it's not like the Warriors, Thunder or Blazers are some old squads.

kevin love is laughably bad defensively. I mean he's near boozer levels of ineptitude/not giving a fukk out there.

I mean why in the hell did he allow this to happen last night?

I overrated Loves impact on games, I see that now.

@Swagnificent beat me on this one :leon:

I watched the Hawks/Cavs game, and I almost felt bad for Love with how Horford/Millsap were just taking turns on dude. It was embarrassing. :merchant:
Millsap is Kevin's father. Kills him every time.

Now who else wanna fukk with Hollywood Court?
If they kept Wiggins you would prob see Bron at the 4 more which is what he wanted to get away from. And with Varjeo getting hurt it would be Miami all over again with Thompson playing the 5 aka small ball. Like I said above Wiggins is prob ahead of the curve defensively already but I'm not sure that makes them an overall better defensive team.

Varejao changes things, but really not by much because they have been looking for an athletic defensive wing for weeks now. They started Miller and Marion together last night, that shyt was straight :flabbynsick: allstars out there, they lack the athleticism on the wing to stop people from turning the corner and exposing their horrendous interior D.

The point is that they traded Wiggins under the idea that they couldn't wait, yet they have no realistic shot at winning a title this year so trading him to "win now" is kind of dumb.

It wasn't too unrealistic to believe they could win the east this year. Maybe they thought Wiggins would take longer to peak as a player than it would for this current team to win a title. But then again its still early.

I don't know what their record RIGHT NOW would be but there's no way, by the end of this season, this team is better with Wiggins instead of Love. No way. Having Wiggins now instead of Love doesn't even solve any of their current problems.

Eh, they could have started the season, seen how things worked out with Wiggins and then decided whether or not they wanted to move him. It always seemed like such a rush, the Warriors weren't trading Klay for Love, the Bulls weren't gonna trade for him without an extension leaving the Rockets who don't have the assets to trade for him.

Letting LeBron play GM is going to bite them in the ass, dude has no foresight at all.

The Cavs wouldn't have been good on defense this year with or without Wiggins.

But beyond that, who didn't see Love struggling on defense coming? Anyone who watched him knew that was going to be an issue.

The shocker is his struggles on offense.
I'm not even shocked at that anymore. hes forgotten how to play without the ball. That's all Adelman. I gotta verify this but remember that "touches" stat? Well last year, Love was in the top 5. The other 4 were point guards who dribble the life out of the basketball. Everything was run through him with mixed results. Now he's not having the offense run through him and he can't cope.

Also, him always camped out by the three point line is 100% on Love, not Blatt. For someone who wants the ball in the post, he swears he's Ray Allen when he gets the rock. In the 4th all he wants to do is jab step jab step pump fake jab step then lean into someone hoping he gets fouled. That's his offense and that's how he gets treated.

Their current problems would be exactly the same though, they lack rim protection and it might cost them more assets to trade for it.

This team is not winning a title this year (without a trade to bring in a 2 & 5), no way in hell they beat the Bulls in a 7 game series without some serious injuries in Chicago.
