The reason the us military and armed forces is the greatest fighting force on the earth is in part because its voluntary. Forcing people into service would only seriously narrow the effectiveness of the military

People underestimate how much americans HATE israel. Realistically the only way a draft happens is if america gets dragged into a war for Israel.

In that scenario, people might literally join, just to get those live rounds and turn on their own people. A draft could cause a coup in america because public sentiment toward genocide is at peak hatred right now.
