I'm thinking about picking up Spanish before I go to places like Columbia and Cuba

I need to do this. How do you find the time? I'm guessing a couple hours throughout the week and more on the weekend.

I'm looking at beginner violins now

I waste a lot of time, being realistic.

Piano I can play every night because I can control the volume of it. Same with guitar.

Violin is strictly in the morning because it sneaks through the walls and finds a resting spot in my neighbour's ears.

Night time I also study my Japanese, listen to the language throughout the day thanks to music .

A lot of it is being determined to not give up, you're not always going to produce the results you want, the hard work you put into it will accumulate allowing you the freedom to achieve that goal eventually. And you must keep at it.

Any breaks will instantly be noticed by you and hopefully at this point it becomes unacceptable to you.

Oh, also find a teacher before you buy a violin.

At your level you should be trying them in the store on a monthly rent plan. Your teacher will give you more information and it will take you months before you're comfortable to move away from your starter violin so don't spend all of your money on your first.
