I feel like i'd have a okay chance against Walking Dead, regular zombies, but if it's Dawn of the Dead or World War Z zonbies i'm toast.

I've played this scenario out a lot. I think I'd be done within a week. I would either want to go out quick or just say and become a sociopath like the Governor on Walking Dead. I don't see any other way you could make it and not get eaten by zombies (or other humans for that matter).

I don't prep and I don't know how to farm or make food, and I'm not in an area that can produce a lot of food. So I'm definitely stuck with the "make friends" or "rob and pillage" route. I live about 1 mile from the Atlantic ocean so instead of trying to head back towards civilization my plan would be to get over the bridge and onto the small beach town at the first sight of trouble and raise that bridge up. Take control of the little island town and make our little colony.

My take is that zombism is basically human rabies. A parasite that can only survive by finding new hosts to control by passing itself along via saliva. Things that are infected by rabies develop a hydrophobia and die within a couple days due to dehydration. If you can get to a body of water or even a garden hose there might be a good chance that you can live to see another day.

The word rabies actually came from the term fear of water.

you gi will be used to grab and pull you in.

armor?

this will provide some protection from zombie bites. Teeth will be unable to penetrate it, thereby saving you from infection. the gi's flexibility allows for greater movement and speed however the body armor will restrict your movement, weigh you down and tire you out. Unless you have been training with this armor for years, your combat effectiveness is bound to be impaired, especially if you are relying on hand to hand combat. Its general discomfort can lead to unwanted distraction, something that must be avoided in battle.

let's not forget that you may be facing multiple zombies at once.
how many foes who will never tap out are you confident you could take out without being bitten or scratched by?

you can snap a zombies arm and it will keep going as if nothing happened.

You can source water from water heaters. Zombie apocalypse notwithstanding, it's a good idea to order a bunch of lighters off amazon or ebay. Lighters and alcohol are the most valuable bartering items to have if an economy collapses from what I've read that was written by someone that has experienced it.
