Communist meaning a set wage and i cant buy shyt at willl based on my own personal earning potential?
fukk outta here
Good for a come up but not for the long term
This.
Capitalism has its issues and those issues have been exploited by unethical opportunists. That being said, I do believe many of us have a romanticized view of communism and it's practicality in implementation in a Country of this size and with its history.
What makes anyone think that the people who would be prime for exploiting a capitalist system would not be in prime position to exploit a communist system?
At the time that Stalin was the ruling the Soviet Union under a communist thumb, I hope people are aware that for most of the Soviet Union's reign, the U.S was isolationist and did not really have the interest nor the power to "sabotage" the Soviet Union - at least until after WW2.
Considering the Bolsheviks came through and slaughtered the Czar - Nicolas II - as a result of his greed and ineffective rule which prejudiced the vast amount of poor in his country, you'd think the communist rule, w/ its principles in helping promote equality for all would have boosted Russian morale and prospects.
That's not what happened.
I would see a similar fate in this Country.
Now, considering we are having this discussion as if it's in the realm of possibility to somehow implement communism as a new U.S mechanism, I think it's fair game to ask the question:
if both were feasible, would you rather have communism in the U.S or would you rather have a proper checks and balances system to maximize ethics & proper & equitable business practice throughout the U.S?
There would still be poor people, but the reduction to obstruction of opportunity would make up for it in a well maintained and properly regulated capitalist society.

What's so crazy to think about is the fact that many of the brehs that I respect on the Coli and in real life who constantly condemn the U.S & its capitalist ways actually find themselves excitedly talking about making money, having property and enjoying the privileges they are afforded if only because of the capitalist society we live in.
What would a communist society mean for me as a black man, raised by poor parents, who has a law career, property, and children who I love to spend money on to improve their ability to be productive members of society?
I genuinely ask proponents of a communist system what would I love and what would I gain?
The last question I'd ask, are people aware that prejudice, racism and discrimination would not disappear because of a dismantling of capitalism and a use of communism, right? A creation of communism would come at the behest of those individuals who society is supposed to trust to do the right thing.
In such a diverse society as in the U.S, who would be those people that our society would come to a universal decision to put in place to implement the
"correct and proper" creation of a communist U.S?
Racism is perpetuated through capitalism...
If there are no classes...there is no racism...
Racism can't exist without capitalism.
Huh? You realize in the Soviet Union, various sub groups of Russian society were in pogroms, right? Although not a "race", Jewish people were violently discriminated in the Soviet Union.
If such discrimination can exist in Communist Russia where every is typically the same complexion, why would you believe that a communist U.S would somehow be a fairy tale of post race society?
In any society, progress, production, and prosperity ebbs and flows. There will be bad times and good times. During good times, people get comfortable.
During bad times? People look for scapegoats. If there is an economic downturn, you don't think people will look to immigrants, jews, blacks, arabs, etc to blame the misfortune on?
I beg to differ, brother.
