It may not have been "a lot" Perse, but growing up we only moved if she was offered more money some place else. That was probably like 3 or 4 times. I actually enjoyed starting over every few years and making new friends in new places.
Fair enough. But it's very hard on children if they gotta keep switching life up
I got a job offer in some city that had a black pop of 0.0003% I declined.
Was it in Halifax? I got a job offer in Montreal but I don't speak French.
Yep. Did it twice. 1st time 45 mins from home (not far at all) but it was a new city and state where I knew no one.
And then 7 hours away to where I am no.

I've come up with a saying- " Be scared to make a big move but don't let that fear stop you. "
That's my motto for life now.

Moved to GA for a job. Best decision of my life :ahh:

I'm actually in transition now to move to a new city. albeit still in Michigan, it's far enough away from my family that they can't pop up on me out of nowhere and I can grow on my own.

It depends where and how much.

If im getting a lot of bread then i dont care. I would even move to Maine if the job is something like 250k a year and I will feel like hit the lottery if a job from California is calling my name. a stable job that is

Really you only need to make sure your kid goes to the same high school for 4 years. Before that kids make friends really easy, especially if you sign them up for activities.

I used to miss my friends back in Texas :mjcry:

Making friends there was a lot easier too. But I don't remember their names now so fukk it

company i was working for in philly got bought out by a company in minnesota. only 2 of us took the offer to move to minnesota. everyone stayed behind and took unemployment and the severance package. which honestly wasnt crap. best move i ever made. got a 10k relocation package. was able to get a fly out to look for a spot. was even able to rent a car to get around so i could look for a place. of course now im ready to move back to the east coast. it was nice. but now that i have kids. its the worst. no cousins to play with. holidays you dont see your extended family. flying home once a year. TIME TO DEFINITELY MOVE BACK
