Presumably you wouldn't be proposing if you were broke, nothing wrong with being cheap and wouldn't a woman you're dating find you attractive?
A breh can hope.

.if we are at the point where you decide that you as a man are going to make me your wife then yes, I deserve better.unless you plan on buying him a ring worth much more, what makes you think you deserve anything more expensive?
well as long as both of you are idiotsif we are at the point where you decide that you as a man are going to make me your wife then yes, I deserve better.
And yes, my husband will get the best damn wedding band I can get. I have material possessions that are well over $3,000 and if a fire just so happens to destroy them all, I would be just fine so to me, I see no problem spending more than that to give my husband as a symbol of our love.

And loyal.I need a good Coli woman.
I can be broke, cheap, unattractive, and lack ambition and she'll still love me as long as I love her back.![]()
If my love is worth 10 dollars...shyt at least spend 500 for a tiny ass cubic zirconia.
Maybe it's a test to see if I'm money hungry...

you were overanalyzing. Shoulda just said this part lolI may be overanalyzing this and maybe you meant "best damn wedding band I can get after the essentials are covered". That would make more sense.
Anyway, just my $0.02

status but would you be happy with a $3k ring if he could afford a $10k one? Why or why not? Do you think it is a reflection of his feelings for you, or do you just want the bragging rights? Or is it that you don't think a $3k ring would be very pretty or what?what if people think of engagement rings as, like, a dowry paid directly to the girl instead of her family? That's sort of an immature way of thinking.
There's nothing wrong with wanting nice things or even going a little out of your way for someone you love, but "the best damn wedding band I can get" means you won't be getting the best marital home you can get, won't be having the best honeymoon you can have, won't be sending your kids to the best college, etc...
You think I'm making a hyperbolic point, but the fact is I could afford to buy my girl a 150k ring when I propose (yes really) but it would be idiotic to do so and it would be kind of weird for me if she went into the marriage expecting that. Besides, the only reason to buy an extravagantly expensive ring is so you can brag to other (less fortunate) people about how extravagantly expensive it is. It's not at all a measure of how a man feels about you.

Cheap but thoughtful. Like those are ugly. The guy im with would know to get me something more appealing to my taste.

Like this, its a quartz crystal ring and its only 40 bucks. I would get mad that he doesn't know my taste more then anything.

Love is priceless but if that ring is only $10 don't bother with the ring & ask me to marry you with a promise of everlasting love that has no price tag.so love has a price tag on it? cool...

That sounds... kinda weird. I guess the good thing would be that the wealth stays inside their union, but... would be kind of not the point of a dowry at all.
