He does get washed but he's supposed to lose all his fights. Thats why they make him fight Dragon and God level fighters. So he keeps thirsting for more power. Like a mini Garou. At some point he will be the biggest threat to Saitama and theyll fight for real. He does get waxed often but never by someone he shouldve been able to beat. Speed of Sound Sonic almost got him though, but then we find out just how strong Sonic actually is in the Flashy Flash backstory. After that, we realize that Genos really shouldnt have been able to keep up with Sonic in the first place so the loss kinda becomes a feat.
Same thing with Garou. Genos shouldnt have been able to hang at all since we know how strong Garou really is. And Garou flexing on Orochi King was 
because he know just how strong he is by his fight with Saitama.ultraflexed
