Don't do that. There's a vast chasm of difference between regular old ppl and hood elders. Hood elders and block ogs recognize the respect conveyed in that phrasing.

I got ogs right now who, if I just sent a text saying, "You good, my nikka?" would legit feel like " Somebody love me."

No. I show respect to my elders. When it comes down to it, certain language is reserved for my peer group.

Now, there may be instances where certain language is permitted depending on the relationship and level of rapport one may have with an elder.

Other than that, I will keep my language, tone and delivery on a respectable level and if I feel that an elder is too cantankerous for my liking, then I will simply remove myself from their presence and keep it pushin'..

Why do yall do this?

My great aunt died in '16, my grandma in '17, and they were born in the 40s and used "nikka" all the time. Black people using "nikka" amongst each other isn't a new phenomenon...

What did your dad say when you called your mom a nikka?

Well they got divorced when I was a toddler, but this a convo with me and her joking about some shyt on tv.

But the funny thing is my grandma( her mom) used to refer to my dad as that “black ass nikka” when he did some bullshyt like being late picking me up.
