Tired of going by this slave name that I have no connection to. Hell, I have more connection to the name I have on here than the name I have in real life. Would you ever consider changing your name?

I just want to acknowledge that this is a male problem, because women are expected to change their names in marriage. When she doesnt conform, people and society question why.

As a teacher, I also see how other People's of the Global Majority from outside the US, adopt American names. I see this the most in Chinese students.

This is just some shyt I been thinking about....

Whats in a name? :lupe:

I'm the only person in America with my name...

I never could or would change my name...there's too much associated with...my family's history, my own history, I see my name in 2015 as kind of a brand of sorts. People used to make fun of my African name, not be able to say it right or pronounce it properly, but I could never change it. If I changed that, just to be the 12,324,435th John Miller or something, I would just lose my identity and everything that makes me unique with it.
